Un día como hoy, 9 de Octubre, nació en Liverpool John Lennon.
Sí, miembro de los Beatles y uno de los artistas más influyentes del Siglo XX.
Es muy probable que encuentren homenajes a este tremendo artista a través de toda la web, mucho más completos que éste, por cierto, asi que sólo me limitaré a hacer un homenaje incompleto, dudoso, pero sincero.
Al Sr. Lennon lo descubrí bien tarde… precisamente en 1996 cuando alguien me prestó un cd llamado The John Lennon Collection. Claro, disfruté del clásico que es Imagine, pero también descubrí joyitas como Woman, Watching the Wheels, Jealous guy y varias más.
Más tarde adquiriría Lennon Legend: The Very Best of John Lennon simplemente porque en el album anterior no estaba incluída la desgarradora Mother.
En fin, no puedo asegurar que soy en experto en Lennon, ni menos un simple conocedor, pero si lo admiro, lo admiro por su música y por su vida. Fue un genio y por suerte aún podemos apreciar su obra.
Desde acá, Sr. Lennon, humilde casa bloguera, lo saludo, donde quiera que éste [ups, eso salió demasiado "religioso"... yo no soy así].. refrase: lo saludo, aunque no me pueda leer.
Eso sí, me quedo con una frase que leí por allá en esos adorables años ‘90: Quién sabe qué estaría haciendo el viejo Lennon ahora… tal vez grabando genialidades junto a Trent Reznor.
